Jumping in with two feet!

Hi Everyone. We certainly arrived with a bang. Ron and I arrived April 26th and have since experienced power outages, internet interuptions galore, an earthquake and subsequent after shocks, unbelievable heat and a coup. We've been busy with guests and with updating a few matters around Cocolobo. The resident managers cottage now has real stairs (really would have liked them in place during the earthquake when Ron and I raced each other to get to the ground!) and a lovely enlarged deck. We have yet to fully experience our hammock on said deck but we're aiming to give it a whirl this week if this Zelaya matter slows down.So far we've been tweaking breakfast menu's and Haidi is doing a great job on presentation. We've hosted 3 bbq's for our guests that were well attended and very much appreciated. We have implemented a thank you note system when guests leave that encourages them to note on tripadvisor how their visit was. Maintenance issues are ongoing but we've managed to install a shower on the pool deck, cleaned, repaired and painted a few fans that are salvageable, installed outside faucets for easier window cleaning and gardening. We had water jug stations designed and installed in the north and south lodges for easier access for guests. Cisterns have been cleaned and serviced as have the A/C units.
The lodges are finished except a few small items that are to be finished in the next few days....or manana ;) Until the next blog.......take care.
